Creator: Robbie Pickering
QUENTIN
Despite Gaslit being painted as Martha Mitchell’s (Julia Roberts) story, it’s more of a satirical farce about the entire Watergate scandal. If anything, John Dean (Dan Stevens) is the main character. Either way, while it starts off strong, focusing on the bumbling idiots behind Watergate in a way that is similar to the Coen brothers’ The Ladykillers, it loses momentum as it starts to take itself seriously in the later episodes. With a cast this strong though (Shea Whigham is particularly great as G. Gordon Liddy), it’s engaging enough to hold your interest, even if it’s not something you would ever rave about.
